New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project Update Chappaqua, NY
Key Updates
Progress and Coordination
Masonry Work (Updated!) Block work will continue throughout the week, with masonry teams fully mobilized on site. The mason has started work on the southwest portion of the project, near the elevator, fill station, and shower area.
Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPFP) trades are also actively working, continuing the rough-in of pipes, conduits, and electrical wiring within the newly erected walls. Coordination between trades is ongoing to maintain schedule and ensure quality installation.
Access and Parking
• No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive. • All deliveries must enter the site via King Street. • Any required access via Memorial Drive will be communicated in advance.
Environmental Safety Measures
Silt fences and silt baskets remain installed to manage runoff and sediment. These controls are being actively monitored and maintained to ensure compliance and site cleanliness.
Community Engagement
The Fire District encourages residents to stay informed via the District’s website and community announcements. Updates will include key milestones, schedule changes, and any potential traffic impacts. Community feedback is always welcome.
