New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project Update Chappaqua, NY
Key Updates:
Progress and Coordination:
•Crane & Steel Installation (New!):
Exciting milestone — the crane has been delivered, and the first steel has been installed, officially taking the project vertical! Steel erection, including fall protection fittings, will continue on the west side of the site.
•Masonry Work (New!):
Masonry work is scheduled to begin by the end of this week or early next week, with block placement as the next major activity.
•Electrical Work (Updated):
Electrical conduit installation has been completed and passed inspection. The conduits were successfully backfilled last week.
•Plumbing Work:
Backfilling of plumbing pipes with stone continues in all areas where electrical conduits are not being installed.
Access and Parking:
•No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive. •All deliveries must enter the site via King Street. •Any required access via Memorial Drive will be communicated in advance.
Environmental Safety Measures:
•Silt fences and silt baskets remain in place to manage runoff and sediment. These controls are being monitored and maintained regularly.
Community Engagement:
•The Fire District encourages residents to stay updated via the District’s website and community announcements. Key updates will cover project milestones, traffic impacts, and any changes to the construction schedule. Community feedback is always welcome.
