Key Updates
Progress and Coordination
• The mobile crane returned to the site on Thursday, June 19, and has been actively supporting the erection of structural steel. • Crews are continuing to complete bolted connections between steel beams and columns installed last week. • By the end of next week, work is expected to shift to the placement of metal decking along the second floor and roof. • Masonry crews will remobilize on-site Thursday, June 26, to resume block work in the southwest portion of the building, including the elevator lobby, corridor, unisex toilets, and standby room. They are expected to remain on-site through the end of August to complete block installation throughout the building. • MEPFP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection) have been notified to coordinate with masonry crews and will begin installing pipe, conduit, and devices behind the block walls starting Thursday, June 26.
Steel Installation
Structural steel erection is progressing steadily with current activity focused on:
• Completing bolted beam-to-column connections • Straightening and leveling of framing members • Upcoming: Metal deck installation on the second floor and roof anticipated by end of next week
Masonry Work
Block work continues to support the upcoming precast installation:
• Currently focused in the southwest portion (elevator, fill station, shower area, unisex toilets, hydration room, standby room) • Crews will expand block installation across the remainder of the building through August
Site Work
• Stormwater detention system installation is expected to be complete by June 25. • Following this, excavation is planned for the southwest planters, where form and concrete work will begin shortly after. • Materials on the east side of the site will be relocated to the west side, clearing space for site crews to initiate sewer connection work. • Site preparation continues along the future driveway to Memorial Drive, with sand filter F-3-A installation scheduled and underground detention system F-2 prepared for delivery and inspection.
Crane Operations
The mobile crane remains on-site, assisting in:
• Precast mezzanine setting • Steel erection
⚠️ Safety Reminder: No other trades are permitted within the crane swing radius during operations.
MEPFP Coordination
• Trades are roughing in piping, conduits, and electrical systems throughout enclosed areas. • Crews are now sequencing their work to proceed behind masonry block installation for efficient progress.
Access and Parking
• No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive • All deliveries must enter from King Street • Access via Memorial Drive will be scheduled and communicated in advance
Environmental Safety Measures
• Silt fences and silt baskets remain in place and are regularly inspected for compliance with environmental protection standards
