| New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project Update Chappaqua, NY
Key Updates
Construction Progress: Structural steel framing and metal decking work continue. Crews are preparing for concrete work on the second-floor deck. Concrete work is scheduled for Monday, July 21, to form storm planter footings and install rebar, and Tuesday, July 22, to pour approximately 65 cubic yards of concrete on the second-floor deck and a small leveling area near the firehouse for a masonry mockup. Exterior brick and precast materials will be delivered following approval of the mockup.
Interior Work: Carpenters will begin layout and installation of sheetrock wall framing on the second floor starting Wednesday, July 23. Steel plates will be installed on the mezzanine exterior to allow for the topping slab pour and continued framing. A pressure test of sewer piping for the apparatus bay trench drains is planned for Tuesday, with backfilling to follow on Wednesday.
Site Work and Coordination: Some sitework was delayed this week. Outstanding work includes backfilling the sewer line in the apparatus bay, repairing a storm line at the north side of the site, and coordinating underground piping and structure installation at the north end once masonry and drain work is complete.
Masonry and MEP Progress: Masonry continues in the elevator lobby, southwest quadrant, and west perimeter of the mezzanine. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection rough-ins are progressing behind masonry walls in coordination with block work.
Access and Parking • No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive. • All deliveries must enter from King Street. • Access via Memorial Drive will be scheduled and communicated in advance.
