Key Updates
Progress and Coordination
• The crane is returning to the site today and will remain on-site throughout the week to resume structural steel erection. • Excavation equipment has been mobilized and soil removal is underway. • Block work is ongoing to support the precast mezzanine installation. • Once the crane demobilizes, crews will continue to: a. Complete all steel connections b. Install remaining metal decking c. Verify alignment and level of all structural members
Steel Installation
Structural steel erection is progressing steadily. Current work is concentrated on the west side of the building, including: • Bolted connections between beams and columns • Installation of metal decking at the second floor and roof • Straightening and leveling of steel framing components
Masonry Work
Block work continues in the southwest portion of the building, including the elevator, fill station, and shower area, to support the precast installation. Work is also ongoing in the elevator lobby, unisex toilets, hydration room, and standby room.
Site Work
Crews have completed backfilling the atrium foundation where electrical conduits for the future generator connection were previously installed.
Work is progressing along the future driveway to Memorial Drive in preparation for the sand filter F-3-A installation. • The smaller sand filter (F-3-A) is scheduled for delivery and installation tomorrow. • The underground detention system F-2 is expected to be delivered the following week. Excavation for the underground detention system has been completed, and the system footprint is now fully prepared for material delivery. • Deliveries of pipe material, liner and stone for the underground detention system are occurring. • Inspection by the appropriate parties will be coordinated prior to installation.
Crane Operations
The mobile crane is returning to the site today to continue setting the precast mezzanine and support structural steel erection. For safety reasons, no trades are permitted to work within the crane’s swing radius during operations.
Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPFP) Coordination
Work continues on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Crews are roughing in piping, conduit, and wiring throughout enclosed areas. Trade coordination is ongoing to ensure alignment with the construction schedule.
Access and Parking
• No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive. • All deliveries must enter the site via King Street. • Any required access via Memorial Drive will be coordinated and communicated in advance.
Environmental Safety Measures
Silt fences and silt baskets remain in place for erosion and sediment control. These systems are regularly monitored for compliance with environmental standards.
Community Engagement
The Fire District encourages residents to stay informed through the District’s website and community bulletins. Project updates will continue to highlight milestones, schedule changes, and anticipated traffic impacts. Community feedback is welcome.
