| New Castle Fire District No. 1 Modernization Project Update Chappaqua, NY
Key Updates
Construction Progress • Phase One substantial completion remains targeted for March 2026. • All roof trusses have been successfully installed, and the crane has demobilized ahead of schedule—a significant milestone in the structural work. • Carpenters are now shifting focus to installing roof sheathing and framing on the west side of the building to prepare for upcoming brickwork. • Subbase and gravel work is progressing in both the East rooms and the apparatus bay in preparation for interior slab work. • Once this is complete, trench drain excavation will begin in the apparatus bay and bathroom/shower areas. • After trench excavation, the concrete base for the trench drains will be poured. This will be followed by: o Placement of rebar for the slab on grade o Installation of radiant heating tubing o Setting of plumbing floor drains • The slab pour remains scheduled for early October.
Framing and Labor Coordination • Additional carpenters have been requested to maintain progress on second-floor framing. • Efforts to increase masonry labor continue, as completion of blockwork is critical to progressing with the building enclosure. • Labor resources remain in high demand due to regional peak-season activity.
Access and Parking • No construction-related parking is permitted on Elm Street or Memorial Drive. • All deliveries must enter from King Street. • Access via Memorial Drive will be scheduled and communicated in advance.
Environmental Safety Measures: Silt fences and silt baskets remain in place and are regularly inspected for compliance with environmental protection standards.
